School is well underway. The honeymoon period is over and students are starting to test their wings again. My last Parents' Night was this past week and it went well. No drama. Just happy parents, happy students, and a happy teacher. Nice.
We've also passed another of those turning points in our lives this month. Mom and Dad's house was put up for sale after the auction this summer and it has been sold. Good bye house.
This was hard for me. Much harder than I thought it would be. Much harder than the auction sale. But, it was for the best, and it's one less responsibility for my husband and I to look after.
I treated myself to some special yarn this summer on our travels and I'm slowly working it into a shawl/cardigan for myself. Artyarns Beaded Silk Sequins and Artyarns Ensemble Glitter are incredibly expensive and incredibly gorgeous. I hope the finished project is as incredibly perfect!
And, of course, there are more socks on the needles. Heavy, soft, squishy socks knit with Dalegarn Sisik, 30% mohair, 30% wool, 34% acrylic, 6% viscose. I rarely knit socks that have to be handwashed. It's just not practical. But, these just might be worth it. They are so soft and cozy.
Our fall weather is more like summer and that means two things. More dyeing outside and more swims at the lake with the Dusty dog. A wonderful weekend ahead!
